"Our synagogue’s members hold a wide range of political opinions about Israel, so we try to stay clear of controversial topics that could create community divisions. At the same time, we all recognize that we’re living in momentous times, and that as American Jews, we need to be informed and connected with Israel. Jeremy Maissel conducted a Beit Midrash workshop that perfectly met our members’ needs by facilitating discussion in a relaxed atmosphere, where people felt comfortable to express all viewpoints. His presentation was thoughtful and balanced, and explored many facts, issues and situations without an agenda. We have now hosted Jeremy twice, and look forward to welcoming him again to help us all gain a deeper, wider understanding of Israel’s dilemmas."

"Excellent truly! Goals were obvious, methodology well planned, constructed and achieved. Groups were attentive and actively involved. From every viewpoint in terms of content and context, so very well done."

"I am delighted to recommend Jeremy Maissel’s innovative educational programs to you. Jeremy is deeply rooted in Israeli society but utilizes his “Anglo” background to give English speaking audiences a unique insight into Israeli life.

Jeremy has a particular expertise in the current conflict between Israel and Hamas on the Israel-Gaza border. As a resident of a local Kibbutz next to Sderot, Jeremy and his family have first hand experience of life in this difficult environment.

Jeremy’s thoughtful, interactive and engaging programs about the dilemmas of life in the Sderot region (and other Israeli challenges) are guaranteed to engage groups in a sophisticated, intelligent and inspiring examination of Israel’s challenges and policy options. This is not propaganda. It is an educational exploration of one of Israel’s most urgent situations that invites audience participation, questions and conversation."

Dear Jeremy,

Thank you for teaching in this past year's Machon HaDati programs. As we approach a summer break and reflect upon past Machon HaDati programs, we feel a deep sense of gratitude to all the teachers that made our problems possible. Your dynamic Israel Seminars were a great contribution to our programs.

We wish you an enjoyable summer,

All the best,

Hi Jeremy,

Just wanted to thank you for all your untiring work last Thursday. It was a long day from 0930 in the morning through till 1030 pm.

It really was a full but important day of talks and meetings regarding Sderot. People definitely got a very clear picture of what it is like to live under the constant threat of missiles on an ongoing time basis.

I attended the local School Oneg Shabbat the following day and my mind went straight over to the citizens of Sderot who could not enjoy to the full a meal like an Oneg.

May the situation return to normality quickly and may we all enjoy peace in the very near future.

Thanking you once again for your efforts and stamina last week

With very warm regards

Howard

"I have worked with Jeremy in the fields of Jewish and Israel Education for close to 30 years. He is in my opinion the most suitable person to present the situation in Sderot to an Anglo- audience.

Jeremy is an educator who uses interesting and unusual techniques to enable his audience get a good understanding of the subject—almost as if they are there.

Jeremy is a resident of a Kibbutz near Sderot which has suffered from attacks from the Hamas for 7 years. Jeremy presents the subject from a personal as well as an academic point of view. He can answer such fundamentally insolvable, yet everyday problems such as "What do you do when there is a Code Red missile alert and you are in the shower or bathroom?", or "What do you answer to your 7 year old child who asks if Kassams are dangerous?" .

I think there is no better person to present this subject to Anglo audiences."
